Hey everyone, Aoki here, producer of the Legacy VIRTUA FIGHTER Project. For this month's letter, I wanted to share a few fun stories from behind the scenes of our stage development, but first I wanted to share a quick update. Our team is hard at work on the next update for all platforms. We're not quite ready to share the details yet, but I'll have more to talk about in next month's Producer Letter. Thanks for sticking with us a little longer! Now for the stories. On Akira's stage, Statues, you'll find a hanging scroll with the kanji character "無" (Mu), which can be translated as "nothingness." The thing is, its inclusion goes back to when Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was made available for free through PlayStation Plus. During development, a designer asked me, "What character should we put here?" My response was, "Why not use '無' as a nod to '無料' (muryo), meaning 'free'?" Hey everyone, Aoki here, producer of the Legacy VIRTUA FIGHTER Project.  On June 18, we rolled out an update for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage (Ver.1.11). This patch fixes an issue where the game failed to launch if two or more players were registered on the system’s block list, along with a crash that could happen when matching against players using multiple Switch 2 consoles. Updates for other platforms are on the way as well and we appreciate your patience while we get them ready. Next, I want to talk about a change we made in Ver.1.10: Combo damage scaling no longer being applied to downed opponents. Since this gets a bit technical, I want to break it down for you. In Ver.1.10, we adjusted how combo scaling works when a player chooses not to tech roll after being knocked down. In previous versions, just staying down instead of tech rolling was often the safest, most reliable option. That’s because it came with a few key advantages: Damage remained low since combo scaling still applied to ground follow-ups (OTG / on the ground hits). Players could avoid aggressive setups designed to catch tech rolls (aka “tech traps”). Overall, the risk w

The first ever VF to hit a Nintendo platform. We’ve also dropped demo versions on PS5, XBOX series X|S and Switch 2, plus the Ver.1.10 update.
