Fixed a notification that could remain in the previous language after switching languages, including Korean.

This update focuses on clearer text, steadier controls and save continuity. Added an optional call-sign prompt for your first new run. Daily opinion-question limits now persist when saving and continuing. Continuing a mid-day save also preserves pending oxygen-loss effects until their overnight resolution. Reduced repeated rendering when revisiting unchanged ARCHIVE pages. Title-menu input waits for the opening reveal to finish. Inactive controller noise no longer switches the active input device. Added missing symbols to controller text entry and restored dialog focus after overlays close. Blood-test results remain visible until you acknowledge them. CASEBOOK reflection changes are available during free daytime play. Terminal text follows Large Text, including when the setting changes while the terminal is open. Clarified quit choices, vote and role wording, and selected Japanese, Spanish and Russian text. Improved translated formatting for names, numbers and records.

Thank you to everyone who played the demo and told us where the first hour gets confusing. Patch 1.2 is about making the station easier to read without changing how the game plays. New help for your first hour Short explainers now appear the first time you meet rapport, a leaked private word, a rumor, and ash colours. Each is one or two plain sentences. A new FIRST-HOUR TIPS page, reachable from the title screen (next to HOW TO PLAY) and from the pause menu: seven tips on questioning, records and the Case File, why a contradiction is a lead and not proof, the vote, ash colours and saving. The Codex RULES page has a new TERMS section for rapport, leak, rumor and ash. The Whiteout difficulty description now says exactly what it removes: no suspicion reads, only the logged records. Controls and flow DECLARE QUEENDOM now asks you to confirm on a separate page that states the win rule. BACK is selected by default, so a stray button press cannot end your run. Controller and keyboard focus fixes: closing the Case File, staying in Settings after the quit prompt, the title tips button, and the vote grid after closing the pause menu. Deep Frost releases on Steam for Windows on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 10:00 ET, four days from now. It is a single-player social-deduction horror game set in a failing Antarctic research station. This week, first-time playtesters played through the opening of the game, and we reviewed the first hour with them in mind. A few spots were easy to get stuck on or hard to read. The launch build is getting fixes for them: - Clearer guidance when a hint points you to someone. - Cleaner text in Simplified Chinese and the other supported languages. - Safer default buttons on choices you cannot undo. The free demo stays available. It covers the first three days and ends after Night 3, so you can try the opening before deciding.
