In Patch 1.2 for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, we introduced a link to the in-game store which directs players to purchase the SEGA Villains Stage DLC. Under ESRB guidelines, this link is considered an Interactive Element of In-Game Purchases. Please note that the ESRB rating of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance has been updated to reflect this change and can be found on our storefront page.If there are any future updates, we will make sure to provide updated information.

Although there has been radio silence regarding the previously announced Sega reboots, the company has doubled down on their existence, while cancelling its self-touted ‘Super Game’. Sega Sammy released financial results for the year ending March 31, 2026, and it spelled bad news. While net sales increased by 13.6%, operating income from its entertainment content (which includes video games) dropped by approximately $45 million since 2025. The company has concluded that this drop off is due to the recently acquired Rovio and Stakelogic having “soft” performance. Stakelogic was acquired in 2024, and Rovio in 2023, respectively. The financial reports show that both companies are responsible for reflecting a net loss of $31 million. Raise your katana’s, a new patch for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is coming soon. On April 2nd, at 9pm Pacific Time, we will be releasing a patch for all players alongside the DLC release that will include some new content, as well as some quality of life improvements.  Please find the details below: “Hardcore” Mode: Enjoy an ultra high-difficulty mode featuring various adjustments to gameplay. In addition to changes to damage taken, health regeneration, and enemy placement, new attack patterns have been added for certain bosses. This mode can only be selected when starting a New Game. Combat System Adjustment Features: You can now adjust attack animation duration, flash effects when hit, the intensity of camera shake during combat, and the display of character outlines. Added Tutorial View Feature: You can now review tutorials that have been displayed in the game so far. Map Improvement: We have expanded the viewable area when opening the map within a stage to improve visibility. Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug where Musashi’s position was displayed incorrectly on the map.

Also includes new attack patterns for bosses. This mode can only be selected when starting a new game. Quality of Life Updates New Gameplay Settings Ability to configure options such as hit stop, hit flash, camera shake, and enable character outlines Map Display Update Increased the map display area when viewed within a stage for improved overall visibility. Resolved a bug that could cause Joe’s position to be misaligned on the map. Tutorials New menu option added for reviewing tutorial information previously encountered in the game.  Wield the katana and obliterate all who stand in your way!
