Hey Wanderers, It’s been hard to keep this one under wraps, but we’re pleased to announce that Escape the Backrooms is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles! This version, alongside May’s release on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation 5, has complete content parity with the Steam PC version, and also allows for cross-platform matchmaking. Please be aware you will need a Nintendo Switch Online account to play online with friends. We’ve already seen over three million new players across all platforms, meaning so many more people to trick help escape. We’re so excited to welcome in new Wanderers on Nintendo. Escape the Backrooms is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Hey Wanderers! Today we are releasing a new bugfix patch, ironing out some more mischief the entities have caused since the update on May 28th, which included the console launch and cross-platform matchmaking. Thank you so much for all of your reports and the amount of information provided – it has been pivotal for us to help get these fixed! If you experience any further bugs, or want to provide feedback and suggestions, please make a ticket on our Feature Upvote page. We are still investigating some commonly reported issues, such as FPS causing some sensitivity issues. Please see the patch notes below. Patch Notes: Crashes: Fixed an issue that caused a crash to occur after idling for an extended period of time in the HUB. Resolved an issue that caused a crash when selecting “Cancel” whilst joining a multiplayer session that the host left. Matchmaking: Temporarily removed the shown “ping” from the lobby list. Dev Note: The ping shown was inaccurate and causing confusion. We have temporarily removed this while we investigate the cause and will reintroduce when we’ve fixed the issue. Hey Wanderers! Today we are releasing our first bug fix patch for Escape the Backrooms since the May 28 PC update and launch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. In-game, this update will appear as version 1.3.1 (3597) on all platforms. The patch addresses a number of player reports since the May 28 update and introduces more improvements. We are working hard on addressing as many reports as possible, including multiplayer connection and voice chat bugs that you’ve been reporting (thanks so much for that!) We have some fixes in this patch, and more are planned in future updates, as the team continues to investigate and prioritise these topics. In case you missed it, we have a quick form for these two points we’d love for you to fill in, so we can get as much information as possible over to the crew. Hey Wanderers. Surprise! Today is the day. A new host of friends have found their way no-clipping into the Backrooms, as Escape the Backrooms is now available on Xbox Series X|S – including PC and Xbox Game Pass - and PlayStation 5. Team up with these new folks using the brand-new cross-platform lobby code system, create new friends and memories, and most importantly, dance around the party table in Level Fun while humming You Day and chugging Almond Water! Oh, and not dying I suppose... As part of this update, we have released a patch right here on Steam, adding the new matchamking system alongside more fixes and improvements. Here are the patch notes below: Updates: Cross-platform matchmaking: Added cross-platform matchmaking via Epic Online Services (EOS) without the need to sign into an Epic account. Added new lobby codes to allow players to join lobbies for both private and public lobbies. Option added to hide the lobby code, to avoid unwanted party members joining.
