Escape the Backrooms

Hello Wanderers.  We have just released a hotfix that squashes a nasty bug the party poopers left us in Level Fun+. Now you can enter Level Fun+ as expected, without any crashes or being kicked back to the lobby.  Level 421 is now available across all platforms! Need some fellow Wanderers to buddy up with? Wanderers, it's time. Level 421 - Plastic Mariana is now available on all platforms. Explore an abandoned MEG base conjoined with a children's hospital. Find your way into Bruce's Discovery Center and fall through the no-clip zone into the darkness of a ball pit. Be careful though, for you're not alone... Who is your friend, and who is a foe?  As always, this update contains some bug fixes. Please find these below:  New Content:  Added Level 421 (Plastic Mariana), alongside two new entities and an entity variant.  Multiplayer & Networking:  Fixed a soft lock that could occur when repeatedly pressing the confirm button while joining a lobby on Switch 2. Fixed a soft lock that could occur when joining a Steam-hosted lobby on Switch 2. Fixed an issue where lobby codes were not working across platforms, which could cause friends to appear offline or fail to connect. Fixed a crash that occurred when creating a Story Mode or Hub lobby on PS5 while the console was in Offline Mode after a fresh boot. Fixed an issue on PS5 where blocking a player didn't stop them from communicating with you in the lobby or during gameplay. Fixed an issue where the host instantly

Wanderers, for the first time since 1.0's October launch, another abandoned M.E.G facility has been located, leading into a children's hospital conjoined with... Bruce’s Ball Pit?  Push through the endless polymer of Level 421 and escape into Overgrowth when the Plastic Mariana level no-clips onto all platforms on August 27th. Some of you keen-eared folks may have noticed a new rendition of Ins0mics iconic main backrooms motif. We’ve worked together with the incredible Norwegian Producer and DJ, Vairo, to create a terrifying song aptly named “Wanderer.” A big thank you to Vairo for producing this song for us, and to Ins0mic for allowing us to recreate and use the motif.   You can find the full Wanderer song on Vairo’s Spotify and YouTube. Alongside the introduction of the Plastic Mariana, we will be squashing more bugs, including eliminating softlocks on Nintendo Switch 2 and fixing some multiplayer connectivity issues.  We can’t wait for you all to explore Level 421 next week, and believe us... Hey Wanderers,  It’s been hard to keep this one under wraps, but we’re pleased to announce that Escape the Backrooms is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles!  This version, alongside May’s release on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation 5, has complete content parity with the Steam PC version, and also allows for cross-platform matchmaking. Please be aware you will need a Nintendo Switch Online account to play online with friends.  We’ve already seen over three million new players across all platforms, meaning so many more people to trick help escape. We’re so excited to welcome in new Wanderers on Nintendo.   Escape the Backrooms is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
