Thanks for playing HUG&BETRAY! This update is built from feedback by a streamer who played the game with their viewers. Streaming rooms (Play online) Add a bot: press "+ Add a bot" in the lobby to fill empty seats. You can start right away even when only a few viewers are around. Remove a bot with the ✕ in the list. Copy join link: a button next to the room code copies a link with the code built in. Paste it into chat or your stream description and viewers join without typing the code. End match and return to lobby: in the room access panel (door icon) you can end the match midway. Everyone keeps their seat, so swapping players or moving on to another segment is easy. A match can no longer be started with only one player (the start was refused and there was no way back). Rules at a glance Open it any time with "?" at the top left of the stream screen, or "Rules" at the top of the phone screen — even during a match. It lists what happens for each combination, such as "Everyone HUGs" or "SWORD, no GUN". Example: A HUGs, B SWORDs, C GUNs → C escapes. B stays with −3PT, A stays. Thanks for playing HUG&BETRAY! By request, the game now supports window mode. Window mode Use the button at the top right of the title screen to switch between fullscreen and windowed. F11 and Alt+Enter work too. During a match, press ♪ at the top left and use "Screen" in the panel. Drag the window edges to make it any size you like. Your choice and window size are remembered for the next launch. The first launch is fullscreen, same as before. Easier to read in narrow windows So you can keep the game next to your streaming software or chat, the layout changes in narrow windows (4:3 and similar). The round table and action cards fill the window. The points list is hidden (you can check scores on the results screen). Taunt opens from a button at the bottom right and closes automatically after you send one. Wide windows and fullscreen keep the same layout as before. Taunts in Play with Bots The same Taunt panel from Online Match is now in Play with Bots. When the bots trash-talk you, talk back with preset lines and emotes. Thanks for playing HUG&BETRAY! The Online Match we announced is now live. Online Match Press "Online match" on the title screen, pick a character and a name — that's it. No room code, no stream setup. Random matches of up to 7 players, all of whom own HUG&BETRAY on Steam. If the table isn't full within 30 seconds, trash-talking bots (up to 5) fill in and the match starts. You can play solo any time. One game is 3 matches. Everything runs automatically — no host needed. Use the Taunt panel on the right to play mind games with preset lines and emotes. Lying ("I'm HUGging, promise!") is totally allowed. (Limited per round with a cooldown — unlimited once you've escaped.) Lose, and you can type your Loser's howl on the PC during the loser screen (up to 20 characters, plus a one-time howl emote). If someone leaves mid-match, their seat auto-HUGs and the game keeps going. New taunts Added to the Online Match panel and to the phone screen in streaming rooms. Thanks for playing HUG&BETRAY! Many streamers told us they only want friends or members in the room on some days, so we added room access controls. Room Access (the door button in the lobby) Passcode: only viewers who know the 4–8 character passcode can join. Approval: viewers join only after the streamer approves them. Their names stay off the stream until you open the panel. Free comments OFF: turn off free-text input so viewers can only use presets and emotes. Kick mid-match: remove a player even during a match. Their seat auto-HUGs until the match ends, and the game keeps going. Your settings are saved and applied the next time you open a room. Players you remove or decline can't rejoin that room. Improvements & fixes The top-right buttons on the stream screen now use icons (fixes the room code button being hard to see). Confirmed actions are now marked with a lock icon, both on the table seats and on your chosen card. Fixed layout issues on the reveal and result screens (overlapping headings, clipped names, untranslated titles). Viewers left behind after a stream ends now see an end-of-stream notice. The lifeline screen is now translated correctly in all languages
