Alembic 1.1 — Particles and LightHello! It's been an amazing first month and a half since launch, and it's been a lot of fun seeing the cool things that the community is building and discovering! Our first major milestone patch includes a number of bug fixes, requested features, an expansion of the existing particle system and the addition of light and optics!Have a read through the detailed additions below, and please join us in Discord!Patch 1.1 Power from heat and decay- Thermopile - a new machine that makes voltage from a temperature difference across its body. Hot on one face, cold on the other, and its terminals go live. Reverse the gradient and the polarity reverses.- Heat pump - switch a thermopile to Pump heat and feed it power: it drives one face cold and the other hot. The voltage you give it sets how wide the split gets.- RTGs are buildable — a radioactive isotope against a thermopile runs it on decay heat alone. Particles- Beta decay - Every unstable element now has a decay mode: Po, At, Rn, Ra, Th, Pa and U throw alphas; Tc, Pm, Fr and Ac throw electrons. Sodium azide chain — BUILT - NH₄NO₃ above 250 °C → N₂O + steam - Na + NH₃ above 200 °C → NaNH₂ + H₂ — must be sealed, sodium ignites at 100 - 2 NaNH₂ + N₂O above 150 °C → NaN₃ + NaOH + NH₃ — balanced cell for cell, three in three out - Bonus: NaN₃ is binary with no anion, so it takes a decomposition threshold — heat it and it cracks to sodium and nitrogen. Actinide decay loop — FIXED - Not a decay-data bug: Ac→Th, Th→Ra and Pa→Ac are all real - The loop was neutron capture running the ladder backwards — Th+n→Pa, Ra+n→Ac, Ac+n→Th closed two rings, each lap depositing heat from nowhere - Root cause: the sim tracks protons only, so a captured Th is indistinguishable from a decayed one - Now: Th+n→U and Pa+n→U (the real thorium breeding cycle, compressed); Ra and Ac capture is heat only — both were redundant, since actinium already decays to thorium - Every path runs downhill to lead, or uphill to uranium then downhill to lead 3. Fire inventing carbon — FIXED I've heard the feedback on CO2 being a generic product of combustion being confusing and a bad fit, so it's gone! - The flame now records its fuel and picks exhaust from it: carbon → CO₂, hydrogen → steam,

Hotfix: Cataclysm, pipes, and optionsCataclysm is more easily reachable.Pipe elbows are sealed. A bend drawn with a narrower diameter than the run before it leaked at the corner. The old outlet is now closed properly whatever the widths, and two-click corners get a full outer casing instead of an open notch.The codex shows what reactions make. Every discovered reaction lists its products, and a pair that makes different things in different conditions collects each outcome. Reactions you found before this update show nothing until you trigger them again — redo them and they fill in.Frame rate cap. New in Options: Off, 30, 60, 120, 144 or 240. The default is 60. The simulation runs one step per frame, so this also sets the speed of the chemistry.UI scale. A slider from 75% to 200%. Everything in the interface resizes; the simulation itself is untouched.Options screen laid out as two columns so it fits on one screen.Various formatting fixes
