Machinarium for Windows has just been updated to version 5706-A. This update includes:Default renderer switched to OpenGL: We found it performs better and runs faster than the DirectX 12 renderer we introduced earlier this year, both on Windows PCs and on Steam Deck.Several audio fixes, including removing crackles and improving volume balance.If you prefer to run the DirectX 12 version, or even the older DirectX 9 version, you can easily select it at launch!

We’re pleased to announce that the Windows version of Machinarium has just received a technical update on Steam: DirectX 12 support – This helps ensure compatibility with current and future devices. Engine optimizations Updated mouse controls - The game now behaves as expected when you switch the function of Left and Right mouse buttons in Windows; cursor speed matches your settings in Windows Compatibility In case of the unlikely event that you can’t run the new DirectX 12 version, don’t worry! An older DirectX 9 executable is also part of this installation. You'll be asked which of the versions should be used when you launch the game on Steam. Gamepad Support At this time, the game should work fine with PlayStation, Xbox, and generic controllers.
