The Fire’s Edge, the first new Darkest Dungeon DLC since 2020, is now live! This DLC includes two heroes, The Runaway and The Duelist, who made their debut in Darkest Dungeon II, a new combat mechanic, unique trinkets, plus 3 more Districts.The team has always been interested in backporting The The Runaway and The Duelist to the original Darkest Dungeon, and with the game celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, it seemed like the perfect time to add something new! Each new hero has their own unique style of gameplay: The Duelist is able to dance between ranks, while freely maintaining Riposte as she switches between two combat stances, whereas The Runaway makes use of Burn, a combat mechanic unique to her class. And don’t worry about finding room for these new additions! The Runaway and The Duelist will each expand your roster by 1 slot. The Fire’s Edge also adds a number of Trinkets with all new mechanics including Trinkets that come charged with powerful limited effects, or ones that transform through use as you complete your expeditions. Rounding out this update are some new town events, and 3 new Districts for your Hamlet: the Academie Duello, Craftworks, and Archaeological

Red Hook Studios has joined forces with Vault Comics to release an all new series of graphic novels set in the Darkest Dungeon universe. Our heroes embark into the unknown once again! The graphic novels will tell an original canonical story, delving deeper into the mysteries at the heart of the Darkest Dungeon core mythology. Brace yourself for the horrors that lie waiting in the encroaching dark! Acclaimed writer John Lees (The Nasty, Sink), as well as comic artist and illustrator Maan House (Dark Souls: Mother of Mourning, The Cemeterians) will be collaborating closely with Red Hook Studios co-founder and Creative Director Chris Bourassa on this project.A launch campaign for the graphic novels will kick off on BackerKit this October. The Runaway is a position-flexible damage dealer utilizing a unique Burn damage type with high synergy for teams that like to utilize Stuns and Pull/Knockback/Shuffle effects.The Duelist is a complex damage dealer that dances between the party’s ranks, able to freely maintain Riposte while alternating between her two combat stances, Defensive and Aggressive. Proper planning of the Duelist’s future turns is key to mastering her playstyle and maximizing her potential!
