이상 현상으로 뒤틀리고, 서로 적대하는 세력들의 영토로 갈라진 체르노빌 출입 금지 구역이 여러분을 기다립니다. 어느 세력을 선택하느냐에 따라 이용할 수 있는 기지와 안전하게 이동할 수 있는 지역이 달라지며, 어떤 곳에서는 적과 마주칠 위험이 더 커집니다. 누가 아군이고 누가 적군인지 명확히 알 수 있기 때문에, 등 뒤에 적이 갑자기 나타날 걱정도 없습니다.
구역으로 나서기 전에는 소속 세력의 기지에서 전투를 준비합니다. 무기를 커스터마이징하고, 장비를 강화하며, 자신만의 빌드를 구성할 수 있습니다. 출격에서 실패하더라도 이 모든 것을 잃지는 않습니다. 위험에 처하는 것은 해당 출정에서 새로 획득한 전리품뿐입니다.
준비를 마치면 각종 이벤트와 임무, 전리품, 그리고 구역 깊숙한 곳으로 이어지는 다양한 경로가 존재하는 오픈 월드가 존재합니다. 재화를 벌고 새로운 장비를 구하려면 더 가치 있는 보상이 기다리는 곳으로 나아가야 합니다. 깊이 들어갈수록 주변 환경은 더욱 적대적으로 변하고, 발걸음을 옮길 때마다 긴장감과 아드레날린도 점점 커집니다.
STALZONE에는 제한 시간도, 진행 상황이 주기적으로 초기화되는 시스템도, 한 판이 끝날때마다 세계가 사라지는 듯한 느낌도 없습니다. 플레이어는 살아 움직이는 구역을 자유롭게 누빌 수 있습니다. NPC들은 각자의 일상을 이어가고, 돌연변이와 세력들은 영향력을 두고 충돌하며, 플레이어들은 매일같이 세력 구도를 바꿔 나갑니다.
