2023's Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a game I will always advocate for. One of the best strategy games in recent years, you can think of it as a stealth-driven blend of Commandos and XCOM with a crew of magical pirates. It's the final release from indie developer Mimimi Games, who previously brought us Shadow Tactics and Desperados 3, but stepped away from development at the end of that year. Now, the team has partnered with indie strategy publisher Hooded Horse, known for the likes of Manor Lords and Against the Storm, to ensure its ultimate game will be preserved for the long haul. Sumerian Six was recently announced and dropped a demo a few weeks ago – and it’s made by our friends at Artificer and Devolver, who got in touch with us to talk about everything RTT … ehrm, Stealth Strategy of course! You should really just give it a try, now that the demo is finally available worldwide (yes, even in Germany), uncensored and updated with a bunch of new bug-fixes! While we didn’t have any influence on the game directly, we checked out a build and we think it is one of the best contenders in our beloved genre! High production value, great (fresh!) skills and characters, humorous tonality in a special setting. We immediately felt at home, as you can see the influence from our games in terms of controls and HUD. We think this is actually a game that Mimimi could have made, so we are sure you want to give it a try. Thanks to Artificer and Devolver for keeping the genre alive with this game!
